Facts about Resident Evil PC-Version
- features true graphics acceleration for sharper edges and higher detail on characters
- includes the uncut intro in color as well as the uncut death-scene of Kenneth
- Jill doesn’t need to use Ink-Ribbons to save her progress
- until New Game +, then even Jill needs to use Ink-Ribbons
- completed in under 3 hours rewards Chris & Jill with exclusive infinite ammo SMG’s but no Rocket Launcher
- includes 2 additional PC exclusive costumes for Chris and Jill
Resident Evil (PC) Patch (Download)
This is the official Resident Evil PC-Version patch. It is supposed to add a new graphics driver to the selection screen as far as I know. It did not worked for me, but it may work for you. It’s untested.

This is the official Windows9x Theme that came with the Resident Evil PC-version. True nostalgia!
Biohazard (PC) Inofficial Patch
The speedrunning community uses a patch made by Supergamer57 that fixes frame rate issues, makes it possible to run the game in various window resolutions and even borderless fullscreen mode. Content is automatically added to the Data Gallery while playing through the scenarios. This makes the PC port the definite release of this game.
Resident Evil 2 (PC) Patch 1.4 (Download)
This is the official Resident Evil 2 PC-Version patch 1.4. It works perfectly and adds a new graphics driver to the selection screen. It unlocks the Battle Mode without the need of completing both scenarios, too.

In 2006, the japanese company Sourcenext released an optimised version for PC only in japan, which features an easy installation on modern operating systems. For more information see here.
Biohazard 2 Sourcenext Patch 1.10 (Download)
The official Patch 1.10 for Bio2 Sourcenext. What it does is unknown to me, but after appliying the patch the in-game timer seemed broken and starts counting after loading the latest savegame.
